Time Flies!

It's true what they say time flies when you are having fun! Rob and I went to Biloxi for the night and had a great time.. it just went by too FAST! We went shopping..yes..Rob, too, although he was lucky and didn't have to pretend to enjoy it too long, because we weren't there for too long..4 or 5 stores is all he had to endure. But, was a great sport about it!
We ate at a restaurant in the casino.. an asian restaurant..TIEN, I think was the name! It was very good, and we didn't have to help any one else with their meal before we ate our own. That in itself, was a plus!
Oh, the only disappointing thing... I went through the entire 24 hours and NEVER HAD TO SHOW MY ID!! I, at one point, asked Rob "where is the guy checking id's?" and his response was, "we have passed them a hundred times.." my first thought was, "WELL, he didn't ask for.. oh, he didn't ask for mine... BECAUSE HE DIDN'T NEED TOO" Oh well, I don't want to look 21 and under anymore!! JUST 22!
Anyways, we did have a great time.. And Rob's parents were so sweet to stay with Austin and Ella. Austin and Ella enjoyed spending time with them as well. We couldn't have done it without them...so thanks a million!

It's 57!

Daddy I didn't mean to age you more than you were! Ella and Austin were right to put the 5 and 7 on the page.. should have took a clue from them! although ella they really were just putting their ages. love you. have fun.
and, amber.. glad, you didn't feel threatened by my poem. they were equally great pieces of work.ha.!

Happy Birthday.. Sept 27

Ella drew this picture for you this morning.. before 6:20 am.. we had an early start.. (the 5 is for ella's age and the 7 is for Austin's age) Aren't you 58?

Well, Don't know if you read Amber's blog yet.. but let it be known that I came up with this idea for a birthday wish on our blog, and she COPIED!!! But, in order to ONE UP ME, she included a video. Since I am CLUELESS and don't know how to do that.. she got me! But she wrote a poem, and yes, she is great at that.. but I am not so bad myself..so here goes!

Bryan's Birthday Poem

There once was a man his name was Bryan,
he grew up great and really fine.
Now I might be biased, because he's my dad,
but I don't think he looks half-bad.
He's very savvy and bright as can be,
When I need a doctor He works on me.
If politics is the question that you seek,
he'll give you the straight of it, good or bleak.
Now let's get back to the point at hand, it's his day- he's the BIRTHDAY MAN.
He's doing his celebrating from afar,
no you couldn't get there from a car.
Mom, and Dad, Uncle Richard, Aunt Jane,
their gonna party- come sun or rain.
Keep in your mind their on a cruise,
there is no time for the blues.
If the boat gets rocky as they think it may,
JUST CELEBRATE CAUSE IT'S YOUR DAY!!!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!! (aka Bryan)

Ella and Bryan hanging out..many years ago! (this is when when lived with them) Now they are going on cruises without us.. what has happened???

Austin and Bryan at halloween.. long time ago!

Ella and Austin's "happy birthday bryan" card..This will have to do since we can't be there to help you blow out the candles.. note: the candles around the picture.

Just wanted to say we hope you have a great birthday on Saturday! We know you are having fun because you are on a cruise in Canada. Who wouldn't be having fun? Ella and Austin drew a picture for you. I am sure since you are getting older you may need your "old people" glasses to help you see it. Or you may have to remove one of your contacts. Whatever it is you do to see these days. That is why I took a big picture of it, so that you may could see it better. Since you didn't want us to come with you on your birthday cruise.. to help you celebrate in person, we decided a little hand made card would have to do!! We would have helped you celebrate, but we know you, and mother, and Aunt Jane, and Uncle Richard are partying without us. Have FUN! We love you. Happy Birthday! Abbey, Rob, Austin and Ella

Ready for the Weekend

Okay.. so off we go tomorrow to the IP in Biloxi for our night away. Yeah!! I am procrastinating right now about cleaning up and getting things done.. before we leave. But, I am so excited about going. We drove through the coast a couple of summers ago right after Katrina. Everything was wiped out. I am anxious to go back and see how the coastline has changed since we last saw it. I know Rob is ready for a break from work, too.. He has been working very hard and deserves this just as much or more than I do. I think we will have a good trip. I am looking forward to eating some good food in peace!! And, not having to share or cut up someone else's food before eating my own. I am going to take my camera.. so maybe I will have some pictures to post once we get back.

I don't like Surprises

Well, I normally don't like surprises, but this morning I went in to the kitchen to get my coffee and by my coffee cup was a note from Rob. It said that he was trying to wait until Saturday morning, but that he guessed he would go ahead and tell me, but that we were going to the coast for a night away on Saturday night. What a surprise..and all before my morning cup of coffee. I am so glad.. we haven't been away just the two of us since last May (2007)..so it is time. I think it will be fun!
Another surprise this morning... all before leaving the house...this one not so good!! I went out and as usual was running a little behind, yelling, "we're gonna be late" to the kids. And, I realize that it is garbage day. So, I tell them to get in the car. I go back in to grab the bag out of the house, and then see this big black bag in the can in our garage.. and it is spilling over, so I think HUM! maybe I should get that one too. There is no telling how long this bag has been there as we usually don't use it for much garbage, but occasionally. Anyways, it was full..so it needed to be done. I grab the plastic black bag out of the can, and I notice something moving in the bottom of the can. It was dark in our garage, as this is all before 7am. So, I am curious and go and turn a light on so I can see. I was thinking, BIG ROACH, maybe.. But, NO!!! Much to my surprise, I found 5 or more baby RATS.. you heard it RATS..okay, maybe they were mice. But, UGH!!! In my garbage can. I run with the can out of the garage, and think what do I do? what do I do? At this time, a LOUD scream came out of me from way down deep.. because it just freaked me out. Austin and Ella who are in the car, are going WHAT? What is it? I am like, "it's okay..it's okay." Because I am still trying to think about what I need to do. I am sure our neighbors thought something really bad was happening with my scream.. Needless to say.. and keep this in mind, I love animals, just not rats! But, I tossed the little can into the Big Can that was going to the street, Emptied it there, and CLOSED THE LID, as fast as I could. They will be so much happier in a DUMP somewhere where they can grow big and FAT.. just so long as they are not in my garage! I got back in the car, where I yelled a couple of more times.. and explained to Austin and Ella who at this point were a little more than concerned. We found a snake in the garage not too long ago, so I am sure that is what was on their mind. So, then, off to school we were!!
So, maybe I should say that I like good surprises.. but the bad ones I could do without! And, I am really looking forward to my night away!

Geaux Tigers!!!

Getting ready for some football!

Some of you may know this, but for whatever reason Austin has become a huge LSU fan. We have slowly added our support.. Saturday night we all got geared up for a football party. Austin was the only tried and true fan who stayed awake for the whole game. Not too far into it, Ella got tired and wanted to go to bed. She gave me a guilt trip about never having a sleepover with her in her bed, and so I ended up going to bed with her. Austin and Rob were left to watch the game, and of course, Rob fell asleep... He says he woke up near the end, right when LSU scored the winning touchdown. Austin of course, was as alert as can be, and was so excited that they won. He has a tendency to get real disappointed with a loss..even crying tears at times! So go tigers.. I will attempt to get the pictures on here.. but have patience!! I don't know what I am doing.

I'm Trying...I'm Trying

Okay.. so first of all, I want to say that I do appreciate Amber setting up my first post, and the pictures.. and also, for that first post that SHE wrote! Now, I am trying to do my best at this, and have taken several attempts at adding pictures, etc.. but I am not doing so hot! Yesterday I added about 12 pictures and thought I was doing so good.. but none of them showed up. I am going to try again.. but who knows?

Thank you to a wonderful Sister

I just really wanted to take the time right now to thank my wonderful sister, Amber. I have two sisters, but right now, I just am so thankful for Amber and the fact that she loved me so much to take the time to help me tonight. You see...I am not all that savvy when it comes to Blogs, and since she is a pro at it, I was at her mercy. She has done a great job. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
